★★★★★“A smaller place than I expected but cosy with a view of the poolside. There’s a bit of a step down into the restaurant which can be quite a hazardous design as it’s not so visible if you’re not paying attention. Wide selection of menu dishes from appetisers to main dishes. They have both white and red base pizzas. The crab pasta was not bad. Quite a lot of crab bits. The pizza with “sausage” I felt the ingredients were cut too small. Cannot taste the mushrooms or the sausage. I only taste cheese. That was a bit of a bummer. The fritto misto seafood fry was nice. Good portion size and fluffy crisp batter. Better eat it fast when it’s hot as that’s the best taste. I would rather dip it in some marinara sauce though than mayonnaise they gave. Other Italian restaurants I went gave marinara sauce. The lemon tiramisu was interesting in first taste but after a few bites it was kinda monotonous and heavy, with overly sourish milky taste. I think I should have gone with the usual tiramisu as the server recommended but I thought try something new. The service was not bad. Quite polite and prompt enough. But they close too promptly at 3pm so no lingering at the lunch table for us. And they are also keeping to 90 min dining time. I saw the staff reminding other tables it’s time to leave. I guess the restaurant is quite empty, don’t really have to get people to leave on time. Just don’t serve water anymore then they’ll go. Anyway house water is $6 so you can control the flow. Generally not a bad place to dine in if you like a quieter atmosphere in Orchard not so bustling and crowded.”
★★★★★“Had my birthday dinner at Il Cielo—first time back since a 28-year stint overseas, mostly in NYC, with a couple detours through London and Australia. Short version: it holds its own. The food’s definitely on point, the ambience is exactly what you want for a proper night out, but what really lands is the service. VeeJay runs the floor with the kind of polish you’d expect at a top-tier New York spot—sharp, intuitive, never overbearing. The guy just gets it. Bryan’s no slouch either—quick on the reset, seamless with the pacing. All in, a slick operation. I’ll be back when the craving for solid Italian hits again. Five 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟no hesitation.”
★★★★★“Everything was excellent—from the warm, friendly staff to the prompt service. The food was top-notch in both quality and presentation. We especially loved the generous shaved truffle slices, which complemented every dish we ordered beautifully. There were no issues at all when using the Eatigo promo. Will definitely visit again. Highly recommended.”
★★★★★“Very disappointing dining experience right from the start of making reservations. Had to prepay for Christmas Dinner, which was not an issue with me. The big problem was that after payment was made, instead of a confirmation email, received an email advising to disregard the previous email. Administrative glitch? Had to call Voco to straighten things out. Then came day of dinner, we ordered a bottle of red wine. Service staff was not confident and kept pouring much of the wine on the table. Then came the “Italian food”, which was pretty mediocre for an expensive Italian restaurant. Risotto was like eating porridge (see photo attached). The mains and dessert were just so-so, with nothing to shout about. Service Captain had to check if we had been served our various courses. There were barely 15 tables. Overall, I rather spend my money elsewhere, restaurants that have provided better service and better food.”
